Frank Sinatra – Moonlight in Vermont

Recorded with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra – year unknown

Confession – I’ve never been to Vermont.  But in my imagination, it’s a hilly paradise where the trees are always red, and everyone drives a vintage Woody station wagon and taps their own maple syrup.

The warped version of Vermont that exists in my head is almost entirely due to Moonlight in Vermont - the Sinatra version in particular.  While you’re listening to this song, pay attention to these cool features:

- The lyrics don’t rhyme
- Allegedly, each verse is a haiku (this might just be a musical urban myth, I don’t know)
